Issue #758: Drop Out

Big Brands and Salted Fish

It's a weak week for we mere mortals. The two biggest parties are pretty exlusive affairs and will be dueling it out head-to-head on Friday. Choose between the big Hermes-sponsored Indian-themed to-do at the Peninsula (fancy saris, please), and another high-falutin jewelry launch party with Cartier, this time at the Four Seasons. Both invite-only. Hermes starts at 7pm, includes cocktails and dinner; Cartier at 9pm in the Four Seasons' Grand Ballroom (for all your grandest needs).

On Thursday, esteemed invite-receivers and their plus ones can hit up "A Touch of Spring" at FINDS, where the good staff at our favorite Nordic restaurant will be showing off their new "scapas" (not as scabby as they sound, they are actually a lovel combination of "Scandanavian" + "Tapas." Oh, witty portmanteau!). You're more than likely to see us there, faces stuffed with salted halibut on biscotti. FINDS, LKF Tower, 33 Wyndham Street.

Rounding out the week are a few exhibition/artsy opening-type things. On Friday, 6pm, catch East/West's new exhibition opening party at Sundaram Tagore Gallery on (57-59 Hollywood Road), or shuffle over to New World Centre in TST to check out the new Gallery of Modern Art and imbibe a cocktail or two whilst stroking beard and pondering why you've never personally had a blue period. 6:30pm, L115-116, New World Centre, Tsim Sha Tsui.
