Sure, all eyes are on the big US election this fall, but we have our own little mini-election here to squawk about! Yes, it's another Legco election this year -- and everyone is atwitter with which democrat will be replacing the retiring Martin Lee's place on the ticket this fall. It seemed all but assured that the total unknown (but nearly 20-year veteran of the Democratic party), Kam Nai-wai, would be the man of the hour. But it looks like he was too busy counting his eggs before they hatched, and now Anson Chan is reportedly considering drafting him as a running mate to take him off the ticket. Party insiders are publicly saying the move is to prevent a dilution of the Democratic vote this fall, but I'm wondering if the party doesn't think Mr. Kam is quite up to scratch.  But what do I know? I'm just a chicken.
