Ever wondered what the rich and famous are eating up there in the glass-encased Derby Restaurant while the rest of us plebs stand around the racetrack scarfing down Big Mac’s? Put your curiosity to rest by going down to Page One and flicking through the hot-off-the-presses Jockey Club cookbook. Entitled Food Art, the cookbook was compiled by the head chefs at both the Derby Restaurant and the Chinese restaurant, Fortune Room, Chefs Donovan Cooke and Bobby Lo. It’s a cook book and coffee-table food porn rolled into one, it has already won “Best Innovative Cookbook - Best Cookbook Photography” at the Gourmand World Cookbook Awards 2007. A little worrying when a cookbook wins an award for the photos and not the recipes, but nonetheless, I will definitely be down at Page One this weekend having a browse.
