Tree Falls
The branches of a 10-meter-tall tree fall and hit a village hut in Lau Fo Shan. The tree has been there for 30 years and was recently found to be infested with insects. The Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department failed to remove the tree because of local objections. No one is injured in the incident.

Sign of the Times
A 22-kilogram sign falls In Tsuen Wan, injuring a mainland tourist. She is about to get in a taxi but the post breaks suddenly at the base, hitting her on the arm. She is hospitalized and the Lands Department launches an investigation into the cause of the damage.

Minibus Meltdown
A minibus driver suffers from a psychotic episode during his morning shift. He begins to scream, saying that his brothers were killed. He veers off the bus route and eventually crashes into another minibus. He then attempts to grab a policeman’s gun and assaults officers as they arrest him. The five passengers on the minibus manage to escape and no one is injured. The 38-year-old man has a history of mental illness.

Sex Sucks
According to a survey by The Church of United Brethren in Christ, 30 percent of students are dissatisfied by the sex education provided by their schools. The organization interviewed about 3,500 secondary school students and found that most sex education programs cover love and dating, but do not tackle sex-related issues like sexual impulses or fantasies. They recommend that schools adopt a more holistic sex education syllabus.

Taxi Assault
A 20-year-old drunk woman is molested by a taxi driver after leaving Lan Kwai Fong. She asks the driver to take her to Wan Chai, but he instead takes her to a rural area in Sha Tin, molests her and kicks her out of the car after taking her valuables. She reports the incident to the police.

Taxi Assault Redux
A taxi driver is assaulted by a young woman. The 43-year-old driver picked up the young woman in San Po Kong at 5am, and she asked to be driven to Tsim Sha Tsui. The woman then began urging the driver to go faster. When he refused, she grabbed his neck and shirt and the driver swerved onto the sidewalk. The women got out and kicked the vehicle. She left behind a digital camera and a white hat.

Legco Comrade?
Pro-Beijing legislator Tsang Yok-sing is elected to be the new Legco President, but he has yet to announce whether or not he’s a member of the Communist Party. League of Social Democrats legislator “Long Hair” Leung Kwok-hung suggests that citizens should report him to ICAC if the allegations turn out to be true.
